Brookline Adds Accessibility Requirements For Digital Warrant Article Submissions

BROOKLINE — Brookline has added new accessibility requirements for electronically submitting Town Meeting warrant articles, the town announced Monday, changing how residents prepare filings ahead of upcoming sessions.

The town's News Flash feed posted new accessibility requirements Monday afternoon for electronic submission of Town Meeting warrant articles. The update sets standards for how digital warrant article filings must be formatted going forward, part of the town's ongoing push to make civic participation easier to access online.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Public Library of Brookline is building out its fall lineup. A Nature Collaging session, tied to the library's summer "Plant a Seed, Read" theme, is set for Tuesday, Aug. 25. On Thursday, Sept. 10, the library adds an Ocean Tails lettering workshop for adults and a screening of the documentary "The Librarians" at the Brookline Village branch's Hunneman Hall, followed by a panel discussing book challenges and bans in Massachusetts.

Brookline holds Back to School Immunization Clinics for children ages 1 to 18 on Tuesday, Aug. 18, and again Wednesday, Aug. 26, ahead of the Sept. 3 start of classes. The library hosts Tech Tuesday and an Italian conversation group, Caffe Italiano, both Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Coolidge Corner, and an English Club ELL Conversation Group on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The Department of Public Works runs its next Household Hazardous Waste drop-off Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Newton Street transfer station.
