Library's Seed-Planting Program Continues Summer Reading Push
Brookline residents have days left to pay their real estate and personal property tax bills, due Monday, August 3, while the Public Library of Brookline keeps its summer reading program in full bloom with a seed-planting event Thursday.

Real estate and personal property tax bills mailed June 30 are due Monday, August 3, 2026, the town has reminded residents, with payment options available online and at Town Hall.
Field closures continue to affect recreation access this week: Amory, Emerson and Warren fields remain closed through Friday, July 31, because of saturated grass, and Green Dog Hours at Emerson Park are suspended Friday for scheduled tree work.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Brookline Public Library's summer reading theme, "Plant a Seed, Read," continued Thursday, July 30, with a program at which children decorated plant pots and chose seeds to plant, part of ongoing Summer Sessions programming at library branches.
Looking ahead, the library has several tween, teen and senior-focused programs on the calendar in the coming days, including a magic show earlier in the week and seed mosaic crafting set for next week (see Coming Up).

The town's next Household Hazardous Waste drop-off at 815 Newton Street is Tuesday, August 11.
