TOWN -- At the Sept. 30 Board of Selectmen meeting, project officials updating selectmen on a town construction project reported that the new basketball court surfacing at Pierce Park is complete, with "all the basketball hoops installed." The upper playground at the park has also been turned over and is open for kids to play on, officials said. The ball field there will stay closed while newly planted grass germinates, and full turnover of the park, including its walking paths, is being targeted for Nov. 15.
YOUTH LEAGUES -- Brookline Soccer Club's website says it is taking sign-ups for boys and girls in its Kindergarten, 1st Grade League and 2nd Grade League programs, with no tryout required and registration listed as "OPEN." Families interested in joining a BSC team for the Fall 2026 season are directed to fill out an "Assessment Request" on the club's site. The club also continues to field its Premier Club program for 3rd through 8th graders.
