Brookline Adopts 10-Year Climate Action and Resiliency Plan
BROOKLINE — Brookline has formally adopted a 10-year Climate Action and Resiliency Plan charting the town's path to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the town announced this week. The comprehensive strategy arrives alongside a wave of reopenings around town, including a newly renovated neighborhood park and the municipal golf course's return to a full 18 holes.

The Climate Action and Resiliency Plan is described by the town as a comprehensive 10-year strategy setting Brookline's course toward eliminating emissions by mid-century.
Separately, the Town Hall Roof Construction Project has pushed back its start to Monday, July 20. Town officials said updated guidance on visiting Town Hall during the work is available on the town website.
The Parks and Open Space Division announced that Lotta Bradburn Schick Park officially reopened to the public on July 10 following a comprehensive renovation. The Brookline Golf Course has also reopened all 18 holes and will host a community event Friday, July 17. Meanwhile, real estate and personal property tax bills mailed June 30 are due Monday, August 3, and the Department of Public Works has resumed bi-weekly household hazardous and universal waste drop-off at the Newton Street Transfer Station.

The Public Library of Brookline's three branches — Brookline Village, Coolidge Corner and Putterham — will all close Wednesday, July 22, for a professional development day.
New programming includes a Color & Collage: Creative Unwind Workshop, a low-pressure coloring-and-collage session for adults, held Thursday, July 16. The library's Worlds in Words Creative Writing Workshop for tweens ages 10 to 13 runs Saturday, July 18. And a Summer Eats: Matt Heaton Family Concert is tied to the library's Summer Eats program at Brookline Avenue Playground, part of a free breakfast-and-lunch program running weekdays through August 14.
