Brookline Golf Course Reopens All 18 Holes With Community Celebration
The Brookline Golf Course reopened all 18 holes this week and will host a community celebration on July 17, capping a string of town reopenings that also includes the renovated Lotta Bradburn Schick Park.

The Town Administrator's July newsletter highlighted several summer milestones, including the Golf Course's full 18-hole reopening, the debut of a new Public Health Plaza, extreme heat safety guidance, and details on the Rec Summer Concert Series, Yoga in the Park, and the Summer Eats Program. The Brookline Parks and Open Space Division separately announced that Lotta Bradburn Schick Park officially reopened to the public on July 10 following a comprehensive renovation.
The Department of Planning & Community Development issued its latest newsletter outlining public meeting dates for several larger development projects, an introduction to the new Toxteth-Plus Zoning Study, and a summary of statewide zoning changes affecting Brookline. Town officials also confirmed that the Fall 2026 Special Town Meeting will begin Tuesday, November 17, 2026, and that Town Hall roof construction, previously slated to start this week, has been delayed to Monday, July 20; residents visiting Town Hall during that period should expect modified access. Separately, the town reminded residents that real estate and personal property tax bills mailed June 30 are due Monday, August 3, 2026.

The Public Library of Brookline has a full slate of programming this week. On July 17, the Coolidge Corner branch hosts a Japanese-language storytime and songs session for children ages 0-5, and the Putterham branch offers its weekly Gentle Chair Yoga with Keith Beasley at 10:30 a.m. On July 18, the library's Worlds in Words creative writing workshop for tweens ages 10-13 begins, aimed at building writing skills and imaginative world-building. Looking slightly further out, the library will host a Summer Eats-linked Matt Heaton Family Concert on July 21 at the Brookline Avenue Playground, and an interactive magic show with Ed Popielarczyk on July 27. All library locations will be closed Wednesday, July 22, for a professional development day.
