Select Board · Meeting of June 30, 2026

Brookline's Select Board voted 5-0 to approve $1.9 million in solar panel agreements for five town buildings, racing a July 4 federal tax credit deadline. Staff presenter Alexandra Vecchio said the deal, covering Pierce School, Brookline High School, Hayes School, Brookline Village Library and Fire Station 1, will return $871,000 through the federal Investment Tax Credit. The board also voted 5-0 to approve a new independent auditor after member Bernard Greene reported the town's fiscal year 2025 audit is overdue, calling the delay "embarrassing," with the new firm committed to finishing by August 31.

Members separately approved non-union raises including a 1.5 percent cost-of-living adjustment effective July 1, and interviewed five candidates for Conservation Commission and Arts Commission seats without taking appointment votes.
