Brookline Unveils Toxteth-Plus Zoning Study

The Department of Planning & Community Development unveiled its Toxteth-Plus Zoning Study and released a slate of public meeting dates for several major development projects in its latest newsletter, while Town Hall reminded residents that real estate and personal property tax bills are due August 3.

The Planning & Community Development Department's latest newsletter introduces the Toxteth-Plus Zoning Study, a new look at zoning rules in that neighborhood, alongside meeting dates for several larger projects under review and a summary of recent statewide zoning changes.
Real estate and personal property tax bills, mailed June 30, are due Monday, August 3. Town Hall's roof construction project, which began July 20 after a delay, continues, and the Department of Public Works has reopened its biweekly Household Hazardous and Universal Waste disposal program at the Brookline Transfer Station, 815 Newton Street.
The Town Administrator's July newsletter also rounds up summer happenings: the municipal golf course has reopened all 18 holes, a new Public Health Plaza has opened, and the town issued extreme-heat safety tips alongside reminders about the Recreation Department's Summer Concert Series, Yoga in the Park and the Summer Eats Program. Separately, the Parks and Open Space Division confirmed that Lotta Bradburn Schick Park reopened July 10 following a comprehensive renovation.

The Brookline Public Library's Summer Eats program hosted a Matt Heaton Family Concert Tuesday at the Brookline Avenue Playground, where free breakfast and lunch continue to be served on weekdays through August 14.
All three library branches — Brookline Village, Coolidge Corner and Putterham — will close Wednesday, July 22, for a professional development day.
