BROOKLINE — State Rep. Tommy Vitolo will head into this fall's election with no opponent on the ballot, according to a Brookline.News report circulated Thursday, cementing his position as one of the more secure incumbents in Massachusetts' most politically active communities. Rep. Tommy Vitolo is running unchallenged for reelection to his Brookline-based House seat this fall, Brookline.News reported, a sign of the incumbent's deep entrenchment in one of the state's most politically engaged towns. No Republican or independent challenger has filed to run against him.
The town's July Town Administrator newsletter also flags the Recreation Department's golf course as back to its full 18 holes for the summer, alongside a full slate of warm-weather programming including the Rec Department's Summer Concert Series, Yoga in the Park sessions and the Summer Eats Program for families.

The Brookline Public Library has rolled out several new concrete offerings tied to its "Plant a Seed, Read" summer reading theme. Tweens ages 10 to 13 can join the Worlds in Words creative writing workshop, designed to inspire and expand curiosity, on Friday, July 25. On Thursday, July 30, kids can decorate a plant pot and choose seeds to take home as part of the library's Summer Sessions series.
Looking further out, the library will host a seed-mosaic craft session with Hands on Nature on Tuesday, Aug. 4, for kids five and up, and Putterham Library will hold "Community Catch-up," a social hour featuring local guest speakers discussing their roles in town, on Thursday, Aug. 6.
