COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Public Library of Brookline has a run of family programming this week tied to its Plant a Seed, Read summer theme. On Saturday, Aug. 15, Brie's Balloons brings a magic and balloon-twisting show for children ages 3 to 8 to Hunneman Hall, on the library's second floor; the program runs a 45-minute show followed by an hour of balloon twisting.

Later in the month, on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the library hosts a nature collaging session inviting patrons to turn natural materials into a take-home art piece, continuing the summer reading program's nature theme.
